PITTSBURGH — Find the heavy winter gear for the front half of the weekend.
Snow is just one factor with the winter storm ripping through the area Friday night and early Saturday. Behind the system are gusty winds and bitter wind chills.

Winds will gust to 40 mph during the day Saturday, blowing snow back over already treated roads.
As temperatures drop into the lower 20s Saturday, wind chills will be dropping into the single digits and staying there much of the day.

Wind will ease a bit Saturday night, but with temperatures dropping into the teens it will feel like it’s closer to zero much of the night. A few areas will see wind chills dip below zero.
Don’t worry. Much of next week will have high temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
