PITTSBURGH — Light snow showers could create icy travel again early Friday, so allow extra time if you are heading out.

A coating to as much as 1 inch of additional snow is possible from lake effect snow bands, with higher amounts expected north and east of Pittsburgh.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for parts of Westmoreland and Fayette counties until 7 a.m. Friday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in Butler, Armstrong, Lawrence and Indiana counties until 7 a.m. Friday.

Even treated surfaces will become snow covered so use extra caution. Snow showers will gradually wind down through the day Friday, but the bitter cold will stick around.

Wind chills will hover in the low to mid-teens through most of the day with a gradual warm up beginning Saturday.

High temperatures on Saturday will climb back above freezing and into the mid to upper 40s by Sunday.
