PITTSBURGH — You’ll need some extra time to scrape the windshield and salt the sidewalk early Friday, as another shot of winter is set to make untreated roads icy and leave kids shivering at the bus stop.
Snow amounts won't be heavy, with scattered snow showers dropping a coating to less than an inch of snow overnight, but some of the steadier bands will also bring the threat for reduced visibility.
Some of the coldest air of the season will spill into the area along with the snow showers, pushing low temperatures into the teens and wind chills into the single digits.
Kids will need the extra layers, hats and gloves as they head out.
