UPDATE 2:58 p.m.: There are still 2,469 Duquesne Light customers without power. First Energy is still trying to restore power to10,992 local customers.
UPDATE 11:53 a.m.: Duquesne Light Company crews worked safely through the night to continue restoring power to customers affected by Sunday’s severe weather. Crews have restored power to nearly 28,000 customers across Allegheny and Beaver counties and will continue to work around the clock until the final 3,500 customers are restored. Customers should have power restored by 6 p.m.
UPDATE 11:19 a.m.: Nearly 15,000 people are still without power and some customers may not have electricity until Tuesday evening. According to First Energy’s website, some customers won’t have power restored until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Most Duquesne Light customers will see their power restored by 6 p.m. Monday.
I think the biggest update is from First Energy’s website that now says restoration for some folks won’t be until 6 PM TOMORROW. Some estimates are earlier than that. No new update for restoration time from Duquesne Light. Last update said 6 PM TODAY. Total power outages are now at 14,383 for First Energy, Duquesne Light, and Central Electric Co-op.
UPDATE 9:30 a.m.: There are 16,487 people without power in western Pennsylvania, which is an increase since 7:30 a.m. when the number was at 15,934. The number is across three power companies: First Energy, Duquesne Light and Central Electric Co-op.
UPDATE 7:30 a.m.: Close to 16,000 people remain without power in western Pennsylvania.
UPDATE 6 a.m.: More than 18,000 people are without power in our area. That’s about 3,000 less than at 4:30 a.m.
Several roads are still closed because of trees that were brought down during the storms and strong winds Sunday night.
Thompson Run Road in Ross Township is among roads that are shut down. That’s where a tree came down and brought a down a utility pole with it.
Power crews were also seen working on Rodi Road in Penn Hills. The road was blocked after a branch came down on a power line.
Drivers who take Gass Road to get to the Parkway North in West View will need to find another way.

UPDATE 4:30 a.m.: More than 21,000 people are without power Monday morning.
First Energy is working to get power back on for about 10,000 West Penn and Penn Power customers in our area. Estimates have not been given for when power could be restored.
Duquesne Light said it should have power restored to its customers by 6 p.m., though it could come back on sooner. About 5,000 people are still without electricity.
Central Electric Cooperative is working to get power back on for nearly 7,000 customers. It’s unclear how long it will take.
Sunday Updates
UPDATE 10:49 p.m.: Duquesne Light has restored power to nearly 12,000 customers.
Around 8,000 customers remain without power.
All power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m. tomorrow, although it said some customers will have their service returned sooner.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Duquesne Light said the storm knocked out power to around 16,000 customers.
The company said crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore those affected.
It said they experienced technical issues at the height of the storm that prevented some customers from reporting outages, but those issues have been resolved.
Power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m. tomorrow, although it said some customers will have their service returned sooner.

UPDATE 5:02 p.m.: It’s been a wet and windy day across our area. A Wind Advisory continues until 7 p.m. The damaging winds of 50-60 mph have subsided, but winds will stay strong up around 25 mph sustained with higher gusts up to 35 and 40 mph through the overnight.
It will be colder too, with temperatures falling to the mid-30s by Monday morning. Monday afternoon will bring highs in the upper 40s and windy conditions with occasional gusts up to 35 mph. No severe weather is expected on Monday, but you’ll need your coat throughout the day.
There will be a chance of snow or rain along the I-80 corridor and north as well as the ridges overnight tonight but moisture is limited. Another chance of rain and snow will develop in these areas Monday night. The best chance of our area, including Pittsburgh, to see some snow will be Tuesday where it could mix with rain at times.
It will be a cold week with highs only near 40 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.
UPDATE 4:46 p.m.: A large tree and wires are blocking a road in Ross Township.
The road is closed in both directions.
UPDATE 4:04 p.m.: All 911 operations in Allegheny County are back to normal.
UPDATE 4:06 p.m.: All warnings in our area have expired.
A watch remains in effect for Armstrong, Clarion, Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland counties until 6 p.m.
UPDATE 3:32 p.m.: Allegheny County said its 911 center is operating in storm mode and there will be delays in answering. They are telling people to stay on the line and don’t hang up.
The county also said they are currently responding to five structure damage/collapse incidents and 34 wires down/arcing incidents.
UPDATE 3:02 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland counties until 3:45 p.m.
UPDATE (2:40 p.m.) - Allegheny, Armstrong, Indiana, Westmoreland, Washington counties have all been added to the watch list.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for portions of our area until 4 p.m.
Thunderstorms capable of damaging wind gusts over 60 mph or great could be possible.
The storm is progressing from central Ohio near Columbus.
Counties in our area included in the watch are Beaver, Butler and Mercer.
