Wind Chill Advisory in effect Wednesday night for parts of Western Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH — A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect for portions of western Pennsylvania Wednesday night. This goes into effect at 7 p.m. and lasts through 8 a.m. Thursday. Affected areas include Lawrence, Mercer, Clarion, Venango and Forest counties. Officials with the National Weather Service said they may consider expanding it to more areas if wind chills get to -15 degrees.

Grab the extra layers and an extra cup of hot chocolate or coffee when you head out early Thursday. It will definitely “feel” like winter!

Wind chills will drop below zero by early Thursday morning with parts of the area getting wind chills as cold as -10º to -15º.

Temperatures will climb quickly through the day ahead of the next system bringing more snow showers.

Snow showers will return to the area Thursday night and Friday to close out the week. A fresh inch or two of snow will be possible, and it will set the stage for another wave of cold air for the weekend.
