PITTSBURGH — A Wind Advisory is in effect for much of our area including Pittsburgh. A High Wind Warning where winds could gust up to 60 mph is in effect for the ridges until 8 p.m.
You’ll need the extra layers to keep you warm early Tuesday, as colder air drops morning low temperatures below freezing.
We're headed into a stretch of unsettled weather, with temperatures averaging 10 F to 15 F below the average for this time of the year. High temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s - much cooler than the the low 60s we normally see in April.

If you’ve taken advantage of the milder stretch of weather we’ve recently had and done some planting you’ll want to stay with our team of meteorologists for because there may be times when you will need to cover or protect your tender plants.
