Watch for icy spots on the roads Thursday morning

PITTSBURGH — Windshields might be icy early Thursday so allow a little extra time. Watch for icy spots on the roads in the higher elevations too, but temperatures will climb back above freezing through the day.

Snow showers return before sunrise Friday and could leave a coating in spots for the morning commute. Rain will mix with snow at times through the day as temperatures warm up, but colder temperatures early Saturday may make untreated surfaces slick.

Lake effect snow bands may develop Saturday, so check the Severe Weather Team 11 forecast before heading out and watch for quickly changing travel conditions where snow is falling.

Sunday will be even colder with highs struggling to get back into the mid 20s.
