PITTSBURGH — Make sure you can find your umbrella, add that it isn’t broken.
Rain showers will move in later this morning and last on and off throughout the afternoon. Most of the rain will be light, but umbrellas and windshield wipers will be necessary.
A much stronger storm system will bring a big temperature drop to the area along with gusty winds and several days of rain and snow showers. Rain will start late Wednesday and mix with or change to snow in much of the area by Thursday morning. Highs will only make it to the upper 30s around 40 degrees both Thursday and Friday. Winds will keep us feeling colder, gusts could reach 20-30 mph and up to 40 mph in the ridges and mountains for the end of the week. Some snow accumulation for parts of the area is likely, but it is still too early to pinpoint exact amounts and locations.
We are watching the track and timing on this system for later this week, make sure to stay with Severe Weather Team 11 for the latest forecasts each day. Don’t forget to download the Severe Weather Center 11 App for weather updates and alerts while you are on the go.
