PITTSBURGH — Strong storms brought heavy rain to western Pennsylvania on Monday and led to thunderstorm, tornado and flood warnings. Thousands of people lost power, and outages continue Tuesday.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: Duquesne Light is reporting about 670 customers do not have power. About 1,500 West Penn Power customers still do not have power.

UPDATE 4 a.m.: About 2,500 Duquesne Light customers remain without power Tuesday morning. West Penn Power has about 2,600 customers in western Pennsylvania without power.
UPDATE 10:55 P.M.: Duquesne Light officials estimated that about 7,000 customers lost power at the height of Monday’s storms. They also predict most customers should have power restored by noon on Tuesday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire viewing area.
The counties include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m.
Be weather aware Monday, as a few rounds of scattered showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and through the early evening hours.
It will be very warm and muggy. This will fuel storms, and a few could become severe.
Main severe weather threats Monday will be strong damaging winds over 60 mph, heavy rain that could lead to minor flooding, hail and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.

Showers and clouds will linger early Tuesday morning, but clearing is expected behind this system later in the day. Cooler air will also move in. High temperatures will only reach the upper 60s Tuesday.
It will be comfortable and mild Wednesday, and it will stay dry. There will be fantastic weather for Thursday, with warmer temperatures. Highs will reach the low 80s.
Wednesday through Friday will be great for getting outside, just make sure to grab the sunscreen.
Unsettled weather will return this weekend.
