UPDATE 4:43 p.m.: Strong to severe storms are now pushing out of the region after dumping heavy rains across many communities.
UPDATE 3:21 p.m.: Due to the severe weather, all county pools are closed in Allegheny County.
Additionally, tonight’s Movie in the Park is canceled at Hartwood Acres Park.

UPDATE 2:13 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Allegheny County, Washington County, Westmoreland County and Beaver County according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS reports between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain has already fallen in parts of the area with another inch of rain possible. Flooding of streams, creeks, urban areas and underpasses is possible.

Storms will bring gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning, so check the forecast before you head out.
The storm threat will ramp up after lunch. Some of the strongest storms will have wind gusts topping 50 mph.

Heavy rain could lead to localized flooding, especially Wednesday night and Thursday. Severe Weather Team 11 meteorologists will be watching around-the-clock for high water issues. Temperatures won’t be quite as warm Wednesday, but it will still be steamy with highs in the mid-80s.
Unsettled weather will stick around as we head into the holiday weekend, with a few showers or storms still possible.
