LIVE UPDATES: Flash Flood warnings issued for parts of Southwest Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH — UPDATE 10:30 P.M.: Crews continue working to restore power to more than 11,000 customers in southwest Pennsylvania. Duquesne Light reports they had nearly 3,800 customers without service. Penn Power had nearly 8,000 customers without service following another round of storms that moved through the region Friday evening.

UPDATE 9:20 P.M.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued until 12:15 a.m. Saturday for northwestern Lawrence County, northern Venango County and Mercer County.

UPDATE 9:00 P.M.: More than 10,000 Duquesne Light and Penn Power customers are without service following this latest round of strong storms.

UPDATE 8:20 P.M.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued until 9:00 p.m. for northwestern Indiana County, north central Westmoreland County and southern Armstrong County.

UPDATE: 7:50 P.M.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for central Allegheny County until 10:45 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in place until 8:30 p.m. for all of Allegheny County, northwestern Westmoreland County and western Armstrong County. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued until 8:15 p.m. for northeastern Beaver County, southeastern Lawrence County and southern Butler County.

UPDATE 7:30 P.M.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued until 8:15 p.m. for southern Beaver County, northern Washington County, southeastern Westmoreland County and northeastern Fayette County.

UPDATE 7:00 P.M.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Allegheny, Butler, Beaver and Lawrence counties until 7:45 p.m. There is also a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Washington, Westmoreland and Fayette counties until 7:30 p.m.

Warm and muggy weather continues Friday with another round of strong to severe storms.

UPDATE 4:50 P.M.: Our entire area is now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 p.m.

Friday starts mostly dry. There will be a few light showers in the area, but your morning commute should be uninterrupted by storms. Storms will develop once again with an approaching cold front this evening. Isolated severe storms could bring high damaging winds, lightning, and heavy rain which could cause flooding concerns. As the cold front passes, it will leave cooler and drier air. A few showers could remain early Saturday morning, but the weekend will be drier and calmer than the previous days. Much needed sunshine returns Sunday with high pressure. Highs this weekend will be in the lower 80s.
