PITTSBURGH — Graphics included are our original snowfall forecast from Friday morning and NWS Pittsburgh’s snowfall totals Monday afternoon.
Our first major winter storm is in the books, and much of the area saw at least a half a foot of snow late Sunday into Monday. Severe Weather Team 11 put out its first snowfall forecast Friday morning LIVE on Channel 11 Morning News.
Most of Allegheny County saw 6 to 9 inches of a light fluffy snow that created a snarled traffic situation Sunday night and Monday morning. Lesser amounts fell along and south of I-70, where freezing rain and sleet mixed in for several hours, cutting down on snowfall totals.
