PITTSBURGH — It was our coldest morning in over two years, and now we shift gears to the snow coming tonight.
For most areas, it won’t begin until sometime after 6 or 7 p.m., with waves of snow coming overnight. It will be a light and fluffy snow, but will be enough for slick travel late tonight and early Saturday. Most areas will see 1″ to 3″ but several inches can be expected over the mountains.
Steady snow overnight tapers to occasional snow showers Saturday as temperatures stay in the 20s. We may have a shot to briefly reach the freezing mark Sunday and Monday afternoon.
Another shot of Arctic air will follow next week as wind chills plummet below zero by Tuesday morning. Temperatures may start to rebound a bit by the end of next week.
